So I have already sent emails to both Dr. Olson and Dr. Hoechsmann in hopes of getting comments on this topic.
The ESA has booked Texas Gov Rick Perry as the keynote speaker at E3. Yes I know this is old news and that many people have heard of this before but I would like to add on something. He recently confirmed that he agreed with the statements of a minister who has put it forward that all non-Christians are condemned to hell. Far be it from me to comment on religion as that is not what I made Gameity for, but I will comment on how completely crazy this situation feels.
I cannot believe how political the ESA is becoming, we all know E3 died last year and it doesn't need to be revived by stirring up trouble. I can't help but feel that they are trying to compensate for the absence left by the companies who left the ESA because of the E3 debacle that was moving it to a different city.
Gamepolitics took this on and frankly the ESA responded in a totally uncivil way calling it a wannabe new site. I can't help but feel as though they are trying to put E3 in the public eye again by making it a political event and frankly that would be a terrible move. Most of us remember E3 as the next biggest thing to the Tokyo Game Show and where we could find word on all the new games and the ones we have been following for a while. Then the death of E3 occurred last year when they decided to close the doors to the public, and one can't sit there and say it wasn't leading up to this.
Well those are my initial reactions as of now, hopefully by the end of the week I will have some Q & A with people and get some more opinions out there for you guys.
Till then thanks for reading!
