Last week, Kotaku found rumors that Sega secured patent rights on July 24th for a new game title for the Nintendo Wii, which could possibly be a new title in the Jet Set ("Grind" in the US) Radio series that was first released for the Dreamcast in 2000, its sequel, Jet Set Radio Future for the XBox in 2002, and the poorly ported Gameboy Advance version in 2003. The patents also include the possibility of different versions of the game for other systems, as well as downloadable content.

A couple of days later, more information of a new Jet Set Radio was revealed with concept art of Beat and other recognizable characters by artist Cory Lewis that was created back in 2006, but wasn't dated until March of this year. The artwork was for a pitch of a new "unannounced" Sega game to Kuju Entertainment, a London based company, who recently changed their name to Headstrong Games. Sadly, Lewis stated that "the pitch didn't take". Seeing that this was back in March, there could still be hope for a new JSR game in the future. It happened to KNiGHTs, it could happen to Jet Set Radio!

Jet Set Radio is the greatest game ever released for the Dreamcast, where you can make your own graffiti or download from other players to use in the game, and a very catchy soundtrack, featuring rare artists such as Deavid Soul and Japanese indie rock band, Guitar Vader. I hope this game returns. If it does, it will be a perfect game for the Wii's capabilities. Even if it's not a brand new game, I think an entry into the Virtual Console is in order.

Sanjo-Chan, I totally agree with you. Jet Set was innovative, visually stunning, and the audio was pure magic. If this rumor is true, it would be incredible.
