Leveling to be a Piece of Cake in Final Fantasy XI

After years and years of getting to Level 75 by casual players (or at all), that opportunity may get easier thanks to a current problem that is flooding the Final Fantasy XI community. A recent boss fight organized by a Linkshell (or guild) that went on for nearly 20 hours has prompted Square-Enix to address many players' concerns in the publisher's first MMORPG. Square's solution to the problem would be implementing a new feature that lets existing players "level down" to the level of other players to help them level up with everyone else in Vana'diel, as well as tweaking the whole environment for soloing, according to Kotaku.

The concept of a higher level player leveling down would be the same as participating in a paticular level bracket in Ballista: the game's Player vs. Player (PvP) environment. Like this for example, stated in the latest newsletter:

Quote:

With a party containing characters of Levels 75, 48, 46, 30, 12, and 11:
If the target character is Lv. 11, everyone will become Lv. 11.
If the target character is Lv. 12, the Lv. 30-75 party members will become Lv. 12.
(the Lv. 11 character will remain Lv. 11)
* If the target character gains a level while Level Sync is in effect, the other characters' levels will automatically adjust to reflect the new target level.
* Level Sync cannot be used in areas or events where a separate level restriction already applies.
* The Level Sync settings are easily accessible from the main menu.

There are many features that Square has added very late into the game long after the release of a well known rival MMORPG, World of Warcraft. The option of having an alter ego transferred to another realm/server/world wasn't added after the option was introduced in WoW a couple of years prior. Why did it take Square this long to make the game perfect? I think now is the time that the game has reached true perfection. If things go well with this new feature, then I would consider returning to the game. Now, Square ought to fix their Billing system...
