Well. This was originally going to be an article about how fickle we are as gamers, but it turned into a rant about how jealous I was that I didn't have a console that could play Fallout 3. So I scrapped that. Fickle, really.
In favour of an article about my favourite game. I mean, that's a big thing to say, and I don't think it's entirely true. Curse of Monkey Island is my favourite game, really, but Portal is perfect. The voice acting is flawless, the design is incredible. It's scary, it's funny, it's exciting, and there's going to be a sequel. After all, GLaDOS is still alive.
For anyone who hasn't played Portal, you should run out and buy it straight away. It's part of The Orange Box, an orange box for obvious reasons, which contains some of the greatest games ever made. Period. Half Life 2, and all the episodes, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. In Portal you play as Chell, a test subject in the sinister buildings of Aperture Science. You're testing the more than slightly creepy Portal Gun (Now, just like the Zero-Point Energy Field Manipulator - or the Gravity Gun to you and me, the Gun has a proper name), which allows the holder to pass through inter-dimensional portals. No aliens here, just you, a gun, and a disembodied voice of a robot going insane. I'm not going to tell you anything about GLaDOS (said robot,) other than that. She is my favourite character in any game ever made. And her voice.... ooh, chilling.

Portal 2! Back to the Portal! The Portal Supremacy! Whatever it's called, it's going to be fantastic. It's been announced, and it's coming soon. Now Valve has finished Left 4 Dead, maybe they'll get to work on it. All we know is that it'll follow the same, brilliant gameplay mechanic (thinking with portals and spending a lot of time upside-down,) and the player's guide will be the owner of Aperture Science, the megabuck making Cave Johnson.
Cave realises he's going to die, we gather, and transplants his mind into a computer... guiding the player. At first, he's all chummy and friendly boss like, but as he loses touch on his humanity he becomes a little more sinister. This sounds good, and could be done really well by the team behind Portal.
But somethings got to change more than this. We can't just re-skin the game with a lot of new puzzles, and add a guy called Cave.
So what to expect from the Portal Gun version 2?
Travelling in time?
This is the closest I'm going to get to a poll... so your ideas, please.
And - yes! I've got an avatar. Guess what it is.

Nice Review. to add to what you stated, Portal 2 will be a prequil to Portal. Cave Johnson thinks his employees denied him his last wish and he- Nevermind. Anyway, Valve makes great games and Portal 2 will be one of the best. (hopefully)
