1/10
This game is promising at the first glance on the shop shelf. Then you take a closer look. That game never makes it back to the shelf.
I bought this game, anticipating driving a Ferrari, around bends, doing things you would never do with a real Ferrari. Once I got home I hopped on the PC, and ripped the plastic off my new game. I quickly installed it on my average Windows XP machine, not even a grain of thought to the fact it wouldn't work. I had way more RAM, hard drive space, and overall PC speed for this game, so I fired it up.
A couple of seconds after the icon had been speedily clicked, a message box stating that it could not create the Direct 3D effects, and I needed to check my configuration settings. Puzzled, I clicked the OK button, and hoped it would start, like some games, even after an error message. I waited a couple of seconds, but nothing happened. Not fully put down yet, I checked my configuration settings. Everything was in order, screen resolution, everything.
So I checked the Direct 3D settings, as it could have been referring to any configuration settings. I tested the settings, and everything was passed, so I checked everything else, from Direct X, the Audio, and my hardware. Everything still perfect. Supposedly.
I tried again, double clicked the icon, less enthusiastically, in vain for this game to work. The same thing arose. No problem! I've dealt with this before! Just reinstall! I reinstalled the game, checked all the settings, and launched it again. Nope! Fight to the death! The darn game was still fighting!
"Alright you!" I said.
I called up the Control Panel, then the Add/Remove Programs, then uninstalled the ID10T! That'll teach the itch.
Since that day, I've tried over and over, with mods to my PC, but nope. Nothing worked. Nada.
Still fighting to this day,
ddd42.
