Marathon:Resurrection Final Release
7 July 2007
Thank you for downloading Marathon:Resurrection Final Release. This release is
not a simple patch, it is a complete install and as such can be installed by
itself over a fresh Unreal Tournament 436 install or over a previous version of
Marathon:Resurrection.
Once installed, the single player experience is meant to be a loosely based
replica of the original Marathon by Bungie. Some things that we included were
not part of the original, and a few small things have been omitted, but
otherwise this release stays true to the original.
Installation
PC Users:
To install, double-click on the .umod file and the installation will
happen automatically. Be patient: the file takes a long time to decompress
before the installation begins.
Mac users:
Before extracting the .umod file from the .umod .zip file, you must set
Stuffit's preferences to "Never convert text files to Macintosh format." By
default Stuffit will attempt to convert the file from PC format to Mac but
will corrupt the .umod in the process.
If you receive an error when attempting to install the .umod, that is the cause
of the problem. DON'T DELETE THE DOWNLOADED FILE. Simply edit your preferences,
unstuff the downloaded file again.
After the .umod file has been successfully extracted drag it onto the
Umod Installer application to install.
Playing
To get started, fire up Unreal Tournament and select "Toggle
Marathon:Resurrection" from the "Mod" menu. You can restore Unreal Tournament
to its default look at any time by selecting the same menu option again.
Changes from previous versions:
- Too many to enumerate them all.
New in this version:
- New multi-player maps.
- New maps, new monsters, new GUI.
- Complete single player campaign, 27 levels in all.
Release Comments:
- Please be aware that the html manual has not been updated for this release.
It will be made available as soon as it is ready.
Enjoy!
