Option 1: When you find the first alien platform on the island, squeeze your warthog inside (yes, it's possible), and drive it all the way down to where the doors will close. If you're fast enough, you can flip round, and drive (if you have the best precision in the world) straight through the doors--or you can at least get the driver's seat part through, and get out on the other side. When you return, the door will be fully open, and you can blast your way out with rockets or grenades. Anotherbonus to this is that you'll be able ot meet the golden elite who is on the other side of the door when it closes. He won't attack you--on the contrary, you can attack him instead to your leisure. (This may take a few tries). 
 
Option 2: When you are coming back to the doors that were locked and you unlocked through the security system, try and drive your warthog through--completely. It's nearly impossible, but I did it. When you get through the door, take the left turn in the tunnel.

If  you straighten out--and drive as fast as you can to the ledge, watch the cinamatic, and see the warthog kill the Master Chief's model for the cinamatic, and watch the real one kick something off the ledge. When the cinamatic is over, you can go back and retrieve the grenades off the dead cinamatic model. Now, get back in the hog, and if you do it just right, you can drive off the ledge and right down to where the silent cartogapher is located. You will have to bounce onto the ledge right above the silent cartographer first--then, get back in you vehicle, and carefully drive won to the next ledge. 
 
Warnings: The amount of grenades dropped on the cinematic model are exactly the amount that you had before the cinematic started. So, if you have no grenades--you'll get no extras. 
Warning 2: Do not try to jump off the last ledge and down to the cartographer. You will Die and loose all your progress--and have to go all the way back to before you took the first jump down in the Hog! 
(To my knowledge, you can only perform the jump on easy--your shields and health get a lot of damage in the first drop--because most likely you'll land upside-down).
