It's taken nearly a year to code, hundreds of design revisions, and way too many crushed spirits.  But at last, the time of reckoning is upon us.

This week marks a historic first step in the launch of VGPRO.com. We're officially calling it "beta v.1", but you can call it a really buggy site. The site is new, innovative and insanely complex But, with all things complex, one can expect a few hiccups along the way

So, what's so complex about VGPRO?

I'm glad you asked.

Ever heard of web 2.0? Well, this site is more like web 4.0, possibly 5.0. VGPRO takes all the cool things about user contribution/web 2.0 and wraps them up in a warm, comfy video game blanket.

User contribution means that everything on the site is created, edited and maintained by the community. This means you can write an article, upload a file, share a screenshot, create a group, or set the agenda for what people talk about and discuss.

Our goal is to create an alternative to the fascism of elitist gaming mega-sites (they know who they are... we won't name names). At VGPRO, we want YOU to control the content, decide what's home page worthy, and customize the site to reflect your interests.

All these innovative ideas and contribution tools have made this site one heck of an undertaking to develop. We've got some cool ideas for new features and we're planning to roll out upgrades and fixes over the next couple of weeks.

This is a community driven site, and we're banking on the community to help us out along the way.  Tell us what you like. Tell us what you don't like.  And add me as a friend!

There is a forum topic in the VGPRO group labled Feedback. That<br>might be the best place for feedback or requests.
